Bedrock is an embedded platform that for acoustic signal processing. With further applications foreseen down the road, the launching application will be optimization of speech intelligibility. For this application, core signal processing algorithms have already been developed and validated.
Which aspects of the project will be addressed in the internship depends on your interests, education and experience, and also on the duration of the internship that (which we will mutually decide upon).
Possible tasks:
- Further development of the current platform (WES7 and C++) into a fully operational and tested prototype
- Development of a (first) FPGA prototype

Stratoguards is our concept for a safe earphone for children. Stratoguards keeps track of the sound dose acquired by the user over a period of 24 hours, and gently limits the produced sound level if daily noise exposure limits are approached. Stratoguards was one of 10 winners in round one of New Venture (november 2010). A patent has been filed.
We are looking for an intern to help develop a solid business plan around the stratoguards concept, that will be the basis of a new techno-startup. We expect this intern to aspire to become the future CEO of Stratoguards.
