The engineers we aim at supporting are focused on designing / engineering of complex systems, which are often expressed in geometrical objects and attributes. It is therefore important that tools we produce express their solutions in geometrical objects as well. A '3D' experience for the engineers operating the tools is therefore of upmost importance.
The goal of this work is to build a product modeller using a building block approach.
On a more abstract level; the goal is to investigate possibilities of bringing a more intuitive 3D experience to the engineer and make a proof of concept of a 3D geometry modeller (engine) that can produce a multitude of wing configurations for an aircraft, wind turbine and gas turbines using the python programming language in combination with the feature-rich open source geometry kernel Open Cascade.
Affiliation with 3D (CAD) kernels, OO programming, web technologies (‘2.0’), (web)design, and gaming are a pre.
